January is a time where I struggle to choose what to wear simply because I feel like I have exhausted Winter clothes and the dull, dark colours that lie beneath my wardrobe, yet it is simply not warm enough to wear brighter, flamboyant patterns and colours. Creativity is key.I often feel bored of wearing clothing items day in day out. I try to reinvent my style by mixing older statement pieces in my wardrobe with something new to create a whole new outfit. This month skirts and tailored shorts are my thing.I seem to gravitate towards wearing a skirt or shorts with tights as I like to feel feminine and chic.

I picked these shorts up in the sales whilst sale shopping with my mum, I adore the faux leather look and worn with the right pieces they look stylish and still are reminiscent of the luxe sports trend look (although not in my outfit). I am not really a jumper person,but I took the plunge on this overcast day as I thought it would make my outfit look more casual, as the attention should mainly be focused on the faux leather shorts.My scarf I think adds detail to the outfit and here I am wearing it as a throw on,I really love the contrast between the leather shorts and tartan scarf.
